Pantaphone



The Pantaphone phonograph was manufactured by The Canadian Phonograph & Sapphire Disc Co. Limited, 408 Builders' Exchange Building, Winnipeg, Manitoba. They are listed as manufacturers in Henderson's Winnipeg City Directories for 1918 and 1919. Directories for 1920, 1921 and 1922 show them as manufacturers of Orpheolian phonographs.

Talking Machine World, March 15, 1917, p. 38. "The Canadian Phonograph & Sapphire Disc Co., who until recently occupied 505 Builders' Exchange, have now removed to 408 Builders' Exchange, where they have more commodious quarters. M.Y. Poisson reports a good month's demand for their various specialties."

Canadian Music Trades Journal, October, 1917. A display ad by The Canadian Phonograph & Sapphire Disc Co., Limited, 408 Builders' Exchange Building, Winnipeg, Manitoba announced that "our complete line of phonographs [are] now ready."

Canadian Music Trades Journal, November 1917, p. 61: "The Canadian Phonograph and Sapphire Disc Co. are featuring their $90 machine with good results. The season has opened early with them and the available business looks very promising indeed."
