Minerva

Talking Machine World, September 15, 1918, p. 36: "Minerva Mfg. Co., Ltd., of Toronto, a newly incorporated firm, has been organized for the purpose of manufacturing the Sonora line of phonographs in Canada."

In 1927, the T. Eaton Co. Limited, Toronto, Ontario began selling the Minerva One Dial Six Console battery-operated radio. In 1928 Eaton's introduced the new Minerva console-model batteryless radio built especially for that company "by one of Canada's largest radio manufacturers ... with a McLagan-built walnut cabinet."

About 1926 or 1927 an orthophonic-style console phonograph labelled Minerva entered the market (see example below), with a cabinet presumably built by The George McLagan Furniture Co., Ltd., Stratford, Ontario because the grill design is identical to the 1928 Minerva batteryless radio.
